Planned Parenthood: Racism at its Finest

Yeah go here: http://www.ppnyc.org/choicevoice/archives/2006_3/index.html It's just about Planned Parenthood (aka Klanned Parenthood) in New York City. I'm sure we've all seen their ads for birth control on the subway. First off, I think birth control is disgusting and turns women into machines, but no need to get political. The point is, I'm not too thrilled with Planned Parenthood marketing their pills to minorities. I mean 99% of their ads are targeted to blacks, latinos, and asians. People always talk how illegitimate births are a problem in the black community. Fine, I'd buy that. But since when is it a problem in the Asian community? I mean they keep putting their stupid ads in Spanish: Tu Salud, Tu futuro. Why not put it in Hebrew for the Jews? Their families are HUGE. On average, Jews have bigger families than blacks, so why the hell not market it to Jews? (By the way, I am by no means suggesting that it should be marketed to Jews.)

Maybe I'm reading too much into this. But I see it like this:

Whites are becoming the minority, and non-whites are becoming the new majority. Every year, New York City, along with the rest of the United States, becomes less and less white. Less white people is bad...VERY bad. We need more Whites and fewer colored folks, don't we? Colored folks are reproducing much faster than whites, and before you know it there will be hardly any white people left. We need fewer people of color, so let's encourage them to produce FEWER children. Who needs a Mexican family of 8 when a family of 3 will do just fine? The fewer the better.

EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEIR ADVERTISEMENTS (EXCEPT FOR ONE) IS AIMED AT A PERSON OF COLOR: AN ASIAN, LATINO, OR BLACK. GO BACK AND READ THAT SENTENCE AGAIN, TWO MORE TIMES. THE ONLY WHITE PERSON THERE IS AN EASTERN EUROPEAN! WHAT KIND OF RACIST BULLSHIT IS THIS? (please pardon my language)

This whole thing reminds me of the pre-World War II international eugenics movement, when racial scientists were advocating sterelization of the socially undesirable: (mentally handicapped, physically afflicted, criminal, etc.) I think these ads are utterly repulsive and should be indefinitely banned.

Yeah the site boasts about Margaret Sanger, and she was a HUGE racist/anti-Semitic. Yeah do some research on her.

It is an "intellectual shocking" ad because the company shows the truth of marketing. Showing that they use sex images or party images in marketing. I don't know if this advertising works. It seem wierd to me.

Not really shocking, just 2 very funny/cute commercials-- "nike tag commercial," and "nike musical chairs commercial."

When i saw this ad last when it came out, i just thought..whats the point? Its been about two years later and i still dont understand what paris hilton (wearing almost nothing) washing a car has anything to do with hamburgers, or selling them for that matter. I understand that sex sells but you have to be a moron to buy a burger because of that ad.

I didn't even know what this commercial was for till i saw the sprite at the end. I think it takes sexual advertising in ads pretty far, and doesnt even bother with "inuendo"-it just does it straight out.

I think this is a disrespectful ad. It doesn’t have the appropriate vocabulary to get women. First u think is going to show how the product is. But the just show the name and the ad is suppose to turn on a funny way. I would never buy the product.
The justify the ad saying “that is the way ads should be”.

I was shock by this advertisement when I first saw it in you tube. Before this video end, I do not even know it is a car advertisement. I think this ad is too much about sexuality, and I was shock that how could it be boardcast in the television?

I was shocked by these pictures, because they appeared to the eye to be perfect, but they were not at all. All of them lost some of the the important things of their life and they don't have ability to make them toward to the former condition; unfortunately, they had to face that such as hunger, domestic violence, disability because of the war, excessive deforestation and so on. So I think this Ads show us the point that we must treasure the things that we own currently, the environment, our love and everything.

Mr.Tristan: Man of words and goal.

I feel very happy to meet a friend online who is studying at queens college. He loves to read books of different thoughts and institutions. As in future he want to major in sociology or english so he reads a lot. He is very exited to talk to me as he want to inquire a lot about me and want to get every trifle thing about me. Like my home town, languages I know, what are my hobbies and how I like New York.
He is a very religious person and has true faith in Cristianity and Jesus Christ(A.S) and he very fasinated about the languages as he knows latin english also. And also he is very sympathaic person as he fells how I will be missing my family, friends and country.Overall I find Mr.Tristan to be very enthusiastic, straight focused and religious man of words.

Some perspective about...Liz

Elizabeth has lots to offer. She may seem a little quiet but it all changes according to the circumstances. Parties and friends are very important for her, so important that she might rethink about her homework, although it always ends up being homework first or after all the partying has ended. Work is an important part of her life, especially when its pay day, how else could she afford her cell phone and internet at home?

The other side that it is hard to believe it exists in her is the one that cares about others. She is a good listener and opens up to give the most sincere advices of all. When you have trouble or need something you don’t know, Liz is there to help, weather it means teasing you or really helping, there is always something she could do for you. And least but not last, family is something as important as breathing. Her heritage will always be there as a reminder of the struggles her ancestors went through to accomplish what they have at the moment. Having said something about this character, I hope that you consider adding her as a friend in myspace, it will compensate later on…or not (just run away as fast as you can!).

Interview

Brian Friedman is a freshman at Queens College. He went to James Madison High School in Brooklyn, NY. He is a very humorous person who always tries to find laughter in just about anything. He lives with his mom Susan while his sister is away at college. He has a few hobbies. His main hobby is his girlfriend Samantha. He can't get enough of her. His other two hobbies are sneakers and baseball. These are the three most important things in his life other than his family. He is a very smart person who can absorb a massive amount of knowledge. I know from past classes with him. He hardly ever misses a day of work and it definitely pays off for him.
