I live a block away from Union turnpike which is a big street with a lot of stores on it, and I live near the end of one section of stores- I pass by this block almost every day, and I work at the store in the middle. When I think of my neighborhood I think of this block and the few surrounding it, as these are the stores I go to most often, and am exposed to it every day. It is a fair representation of the shopping in my neighborhood, and the geneal look of the stores on the main street. When i think of Jamaica Estates or Fresh Meadows, I think of this area.
